No...don't adjust your computer screen...It really is a blog post from me!
I'm just going to jump back in and start sharing! I've been designing for the Cricut Circle Blog for almost a year now and having a blast doing so. These are some of my first projects from last year and I will be sharing all my creations little by litte in the upcoming posts...
***BASEBALL READY***
For this particular creation I used photos of my son Mason playing baseball this past Spring. I used the Cricut Baseball Solutions Cartridge and Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge for this project. I also picked up fabric remnants from my local JoAnn Fabrics.
I added a personal touch to the layout by using the shoe string from one of my son's cleats. To keep with the baseball theme I found this great red baseball print for the shadow jersey cut. I added another jersey cut with royal blue cardstock, added his baseball number and a button to finish it off!
****THANK YOU CARD****
For this thank you photo card I used the Cricut Expression, Once Upon a Princess Cartridge and the Storybook Cartridge for the fonts. To create the card I used the fun bright colors from Echo Park's Little Girls Collection, which can be found HERE!
***Summer Fun***
Tutti Frutti is one of our favorite stops for yogurt! It is full of bright colors and fun chairs so I got the idea to incorporate those colors in the layout. I can't get enough scallop shapes so I used the Plantin Schoolbook Cartridge <scallop> cut 1" x 3 to create the fuschia border on the right. To carry the pink throughout the layout I used it in the title, as well as the actual bright pink spoon from the store! The clouds were cut using the Simply Charmed Cartridge <cloud> at a 1", 1 1/2" and 2" cut.
With my title I created a lot of layers. I used the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge and a fun teal color cardstock to cut the shadow <summer-s> at 81/2". I then used one of my favorites...Kraft cardstock cutting the title <summer-s> at 81/2". Coordinating layers in yellow and orange cardstock cut at 8 1/2" gave me the cute little sun,
To add a bit of texture to the title I used the Pink Paislee Scallop Muslin Ribbons <Mist>a bles and added a Sunshine Mist from Studio Calico to give it a bit color...bringing out the yellow in the photo.
Up next is something fun I have never done on a layout. I took an extra bowl from the store...got the okay by the owner of course ;) and created a dimensional embellishment for my page!
1. I first took the lime green bowl...same as in the photos and cut it in half.
2. Once I had two piece I simply cut out the bottom of the bowl to make it easier to work with.
3. Close to the title I cut on a slight diagonal and glued each side to secure the bowl in place.
To create the ice cream/yogurt I used the Birthday Bash Cartridge <ice cream> cut at 9" using cream cardstock and the <ice cream> shadow cut at 9" using the pink cardstock. To add a more realistic look to the ice cream I added Glossy Accents to the entire cut and sat to the side to dry.
Once dry I added <Sprinkles> Layer 1 from Birthday Bash Cartridge in assorted colors to add sprinkles and a darling pink cool cord brad from Nikki Sivils tops it off!
I wanted to carry over the teal color from the title to the second page so I made a 6 1/2" <phrase> cut "with sprinkles on top" to pair with the yogurt bowl embellishment.
And lastly, I added a pink spoon from the yogurt store with a bit of lime green twine and the fabulous Pink Paislee Chalkboard Stickers. I added a personal message with pink chalk for a little flair! So fun, easy and a nice touch to any layout!
That's all for today from the Cricut Circle Blog...if you want to join and become a member go HERE for all the details! I will post more creations from the Circle soon!
